Ilimanaq is about 15 kilometers south of Ilulissat. Ilimanaq is a small settlement with around 50-60 inhabitants whose main income comes from fishing/hunting. Over the past few years tourism has added economy to this small settlement. Ilimanaq was founded in the mid 1700s and is still in use today. Visit the old houses, the restaurant, the local supermarket or hike around the settlement.
