Trip to Eqi Glacier

Service Description

The Eqi Glacier, also known as Eqip Sermia, is a large calving glacier located in Greenland, approximately 80 kilometers north of Ilulissat. It is a popular tourist destination, known for its dramatic calvings, where large blocks of ice break off and fall into the fjord. The distance from which we can admire the glacier varies depending on the amount of ice that has calved from the glacier front. Due to dense ice floes, we are forced to admire it from a distance. We will try to get close, but it is up to the captain to decide. Normally we will be within 2-3 kilometers of the glacier. The trip is a 6-hour trip. It takes approximately 2 hours to get to the Eqi Glacier, 2 hours to stay and 2 hours back. Various drinks will be offered such as hot coffee/tea, soft drinks, bottled water and light meals.
